The people of Tanah Keke are inviting 100 people to become members of their “Extended Village” to help them transform their community in 3-5 years and become self-sustaining.
Joining Tanah Keke means that you are not simply a donor or supporter, but an extended member of our village. We want to get to know you and we want you to get to know us as we strive to sustainably transform our community. With GHNI’s help we are addressing our critical needs in the 5 areas of Water, Food, Wellness, Income and Education though GHNI’s method of Transformational Community Development (TCD).
Have more questions?Global Hope Network International (www.GHNI.org) is a global humanitarian aid organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. GHNI has been in existence for 10 years, with a mission to “Bring Help and Hope to the Hidden and Hurting.” Their ever-growing vision is to help the poorest villages of Africa, the Middle East and Asia learn to transform themselves through GHNI’s method of Transformational Community Development (TCD).
Transformational Community Development (TCD) is GHNI’s coaching-based method that helps poor communities learn how to organize themselves for development, and learn low-cost low-tech methods to becoming transformationally sustainable in the 5 key areas of Water, Food, Wellness, Income and Education. Read more about it at www.GHNI.org.
In GHNI we’re trying to take “partnership” to a whole new level. Instead of simply raising large sums of money for worldwide aid, we’re instead learning how to link our partners with specific villages. We want those partners to know that they are a key part of the village’s journey to sustainability, so we call those partners the “Extended Village!”
We’re serious about keeping our coaching-based TCD method focused on low-cost, low-tech solutions to a village’s sustainable transformation. So we’ve decided that 100 partners at $12 per month provides enough funding to run our TCD program.
Yes. Simply pre-pay the whole year on the village's 'single donation' page.
Your $12 a month goes directly to your village’s TCD program, minus GHNI’s 20% assessment for worldwide administration. Since TCD is a coaching-based method, the first part of your $12 pays our TCD staff that works with the villages. The remainder is then applied to specific TCD projects that teach the village low-cost, low-tech solutions to poverty: like simple family water filters, building inexpensive latrines, constructing basic classrooms, demonstrating low-cost drip irrigation, etc.
All village funds go to the village, minus GHNI’s 20% assessment for worldwide administration.
Our TCD program is intended to help a village escape severe poverty in about 3-5 years. The length of time each Extended Village member stays with the village is up to them. If a member decides to unsubscribe, a place opens up for another member to join. We would hope, of course, that if your village is making progress you would stay for the duration! But if at any time you decide to cancel your subscription to the Extended Village you can easily do so on the village’s site.
During this initial testing of our Extended Village we are only offering this online option. However, general donations to GHNI’s work can be easily made by cheque, and mailed to Global Hope Network International, PO Box 560026, Orlando FL, 32856.
